Joggin’ for Frogmen was founded in 2011 by Trisha Fleming, with the inaugural 5K Run/Walk held in San Diego on July 29, 2012. The event honored the one-year anniversary of the EXTORTION 17 tragedy in Afghanistan—paying tribute to the 30 American heroes and one working dog who gave their lives in service to our nation.
Since that first race, Joggin’ for Frogmen has grown into a nationwide series, uniting runners, walkers, and supporters in communities across the U.S. In addition to our in-person races, participants can join virtually from anywhere in the world, host a Shadow Run in their hometown, or fundraise to support our mission.
Today, all proceeds from Joggin’ for Frogmen benefit the Travis Manion Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers veterans and families of the fallen to develop character in future generations. From one race in 2012 to multiple events coast to coast, we continue to grow—honoring the legacies of our fallen heroes and supporting our military families.
